Purposeful Devices for Unmet Pediatric Needs

Our First Product

Every year in the United States, over 40,000 children are born with congenital heart disease (CHD). Today, the market is not focused on addressing this issue — 60% of the devices implanted in these children are either off-label or not specifically devised for pediatric applications. As a result, congenital patients may need multiple invasive and costly surgeries.

At Renata, we have created a lifelong solution that has the potential to eliminate these surgeries. Our first product is an adjustable stent that has been purposefully designed for pediatrics to last a lifetime. The stent is inserted in the patient at birth and may eliminate the need for ongoing surgery due to the device’s ability to be re-expanded. The device’s initial size is less than 2 millimeters in diameter and can expand to adult vessel sizes as the patient grows.
